Hi everyone,

My name is Dave Norris. I live in North Dakota now. Moved my family back up here this past Summer from Mississippi. I'm retired US Air Force (Enlisted) Grew up in San Diego CA. Have done a bunch of Triathlons in my younger days. Married to a wonderful woman, have two daughters. Born again follower of Jesus Christ. (I'll be happy to tell you about him if you'll allow me to)
Now for stamp stuff. I collect mainly USA stamps to fill a couple albums. Also have a homemade USA PNC single album that I'm starting to work on. I also have started collecting W/W early (pre 1950 or so) Airmail stamps (and Airmail semi-postals). Am interested in USA First Flight Covers - I think it would be neat to get some from North/South Dakota (One daughter born in ND, one daughter born in SD). I really like Washington/Franklins. I don't have much of a budget for buying stamps but like to trade with others. I've met many people and traded with many people from several forums/groups. I have duplicates and want lists available on request. I accept faulty stamps, especially for high cat value ones. I do occasionally win an auction on one of several auction sites. I'm not a big poster on these kind of sites, but do make a post once in a while. Wish I were retired and could spend a few hours a day in front of the computer reading and making posts. While soaking a batch of stamps at the same time of course!. Better end this for now. Thanks 1775Mac for the invite to this forum.

Dave N.

Thanks for the warm welcome!

I'll try to post some pics in the future. I didn't see a special area for member's pics so I guess they must be posted in the appropriate forum i.e W/W classic BOB for some of my W/W early Airs, etc.

About the only time we get to Minot is when we make a commissary run as it is about 180 miles away! I did just recenly have a trade with someone in Wall, South Dakota, so there are some of us collectors up here in the frozen North. I saw on the what members collect forum that someone collects National Park Passport Stamps. We have Thoedore Roosevelt National Park not far from us, and we'll get down to Mt Rushmore within a year probably.

Hi rlorenz,

About those Washington-Franklins--- You bet I'd be interested in some. Part of the deal could be that once I've got some ID'd and I expect there would be dupes, I can send some of the dupes back to you (ID'd).
Send me a private e-mail or message if you like and we can work out the details. Does this site/forum have private messages or do you just use regular e-mail?

Hi nr-notrare,

Did you see the movie National Treasure II ? They showed Sylvan lake as if it were right behind Mt. Rushmore - which it is not, not even close. Still, I really liked the National Treasure movies. And I also appreciated that they were family friendly.

I went to Tech School in Biloxi too, for Ground Radar training. I'm supprised they haven't moved the base (Keesler) inland some to get out of the way of the Hurricanes.
