I've not done much research on the item before, but here's a brief summary of what happened:

There's also this ebay listing (and if you pan over the various images you can read a rather interesting article on the creation by Albert C. Rosseler in creating these philatelic oddities:

There is a catalog of Rocket Mail. If I remember correctly it is called the E-Z Catalog of Rocket Mail.

I just found a listing for that catalog. It's a whopping $200 in two volumes and is considered "scarce title". Not a piece for the average collector's library unless you're really into this obscure piece of aviation postal history.

By the way, "E-Z" in the title reflects the author's names Ellington and Zwisler (1967 and 1973).

Wow, that's a steep price for an off the beaten track specialty like rocket mail.

The price of philatelic literature is usually based on availability, just as stamps are. "Off the beaten path" areas will often have even fewer copies produced and so will be more expensive. Actually a lot of philatelic literature is fairly expensive, because generally few were produced and most of the classics are not recent. $200 is high, but there are many dozens of works between $25-$100, and a good number between $100-$200 with some higher still.

Was going to start new post on these but they fit perfectly here. Question - Did they actually shoot a rocket from one location to another? I can maybe see it within a local area but these across Niagra falls would be an international dissaster if there was a big oops. Or was this sort of thing a philatelic publicity stunt?

Apparently that rocket flight never happened, even though these philatelic items were presumably sold at TIPEX in New York:

Quote:
In 1936, Zucker agreed to make rocket flights in the U.S. and Canada in conjunction with the Third International Philatelic Exhibition (TIPEX) held in New York. Zucker was arrested in Germany before he could come to New York. German stamp dealer, Karl Henning, had prepared stamps, covers and cancellations for the flights which he brought to TIPEX along with the rocket launching rack. Although the Niagara Falls flight did not take place, the Henning souvenirs are colourful reminders of rocketry's pioneer era.

At least according to this website:
