My StampManage Software (2012) does not have an entry for a 563a.
Does Scotts Catalogue still list the 563a as a distinct color variation? My Scott Catalogue (now a bit outdated ...2005) lists a 563a. But the new SM software does not.

Thanks,
Vic

The Scott Specialized catalog also concludes the listing with this note:

Quote:
"Many other intermediate shades exist for Nos. 563 and 563a, all falling within the blue or green color families."

Thanks all.

I have a half dozen of these 563s and not two of them are the exact same shade.

This happens so frequently with early US stamps that I find it easier to just collect a half dozen or more of the same stamp (where feasible) and mount them as color variations...

Thanks again,

Vic
