Does anyone have any idea how this kind of postage this would be categorized?
There must be a zillion varieties of these large printed postage so is it even possible to ID it? It has a number of features I have not seen before but since I don't see very many of these where I live, that's not saying much.
With no avail, I checked on http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Intern...rica,_Part_3

Permit mail or more properly permit imprint mail. When permit mail was introduced it was hailed as the death knell for both stamps and for postage meters. The US Meter Stamp Society does not consider permit imprints part of meter stamp collecting.

Thanks. I suppose these are collectable but who does?
jobi01, since it seems you may know a little about these, do you know what is the purpose of the S13 BMC PHILA PA 19205 imprint? It just seems a bit odd to have that line if it was mailed from Newnan, GA.

Looks like the "address" of the Philadelphia Bulk Mail Center.

not necessarily mailed from Newnan, GA. possibility that the sender (Hippo Books, in Newnan) contracts for a publisher/wholesaler/distributor to ship directly, using their permit, thus allowing the publisher to bypass any incurred postage fees.

There are collectors for this type of material, but it is an underdeveloped field.
