Well we have been good..have not been to a stamp show since Queechy Vermont on 10/4...its been two weeks today since I bought gas for the Camry...so we can take a ride to Albany..theres a small show on the 3rd Sunday of the month..perhaps 12 or 15 dealers...we can spend a couple or 3 hours there..visit my wifes sister in the nursing home..i dont think the poor thing knows we are there..but its her sister..and if I am real unlucky..a stop at the Christmas store !

Count your blessings Phil, even for a small show I would be grateful. Our club plans for a year just to get 9-10 dealers for the club show. It is either that or a 4hr drive any direction to hit the next show. Hope you find some good ones.
Also, let us know how the turn out looks. The last two shows I went to seemed poor turn out for buyers.

Mac, I know what you mean..years ago we tried to have a stamp show..a lot of work for naught...and yet when they have the postcard show in Kingston N.Y. accross the river I dont like to go because 1) its so crowded you are bumping behinds with people..2) they charge 3 dollars apiece to get in the door..people come from 3 or 4 states to attend a postcard show...amazing eh ???

Have fun Phil and happy hunting

Since the weather is miserable and I have the day off I'm going to soak stamps today. We had a dinner party last night and the dinning room table is extended to the max it's the perfect oppertunity.

They come to every stamp show..large and small...carrying armfuls of albums and bundles of stamps..like they are going to the cashier at the casino...they ask to look at catalogs and determine that they have stamps worth money...i hear the stamp dealer..WITH THE PATIENCE OF A SAINT...explaining the facts of life to them,,,CONDITION, SUPPLY AND DEMAND and on and on....how dealers can buy surplus postage for 65 percent of face, how there is very little market for an album with 6 thousand minimum value stamps...having an ancestor who COLLECTED STAMPS does not mean he spent a LOT of money on his collection..stamps are relatively easy to buy....and darn hard to sell...ask the patient silent men sitting behind the tables !
