Hey everyone

I finally found a stamp shop that I can go to in person. It's in Moncton which is only 1 1/2 hours away. My Mom lives there so I go about once a month or so.

Anyhow I finally got some Watermark Fluid and some glassines.

A very happy

Dianne

Hi Dianne....

You're going to need some sort of small tray to place stamps in when checking wm's. If all you can find is a clear plastic tray, place a black or very dark piece of paper under your tray....it will help to make the wm easier to see. Also, try to find a sample photo or drawing of the wm ahead of time.....it helps to know what you are looking for. Let me know if you need help finding samples......almost all are in my 09 scott.

Dianne...Tom is right on the money. You may want to purchase an
inexpensive, black, plastic ash-tray.

Hey guys

I actually have a small black tray that something from the supermarket came in. I had tried it with the lighter fluid and it worked great. I know what you mean about finding an image of the watermark. When I was trying to determine wich King Leopold I had it was only once I saw what it was suppose to look like that I could properly Identify.

Diane...I found a stamp shop also, Pacific Stamp Exchange, which is in Novato, not too far from me. The owner is very helpful, and the store is loaded with stamps and supplies. The best part is that owner Bob turned me on to a stamp club in San Rafael. They meet twice a month, and I attended a meeting last Friday evening. There is an auction at every meeting with stamps provided by Bob (I actually won a bid), and there is also the circulating APS stamps which allowed me to increase my collection by about 15. Great deals. It's nice that there are so many helpful people willing to assist the newbie.

Cheers...

Rem

I have been using a dark green plastic plate. I was to cheap to buy a regular stamp tray. It has high sides and it is nice to have an 8 inch water mark tray from the last family picnic.
