Greetings to all from the "World's Most Famous Beach"! I just joined the forum today and I'm happy to be back in the world of philately! A lot of this info is in my profile, but, in short, I first started collecting when I was 7 years old, both U.S. and worldwide stamps. I went into the U.S. Army in 1967 (from which I retired with 32 years of service) and through the years, with moves overseas and in the U.S., my collection "disappeared" (I'm trying to be kind here, as strangely, many servicemen lost valuable items to unscrupulous movers). Now, at age 65, I have re-discovered the hobby, and I couldn't be more pleased. Actually, I attribute my knowledge of world geography, language, and an appreciation for art and history, more to my stamp collecting days than my many years in the service. For now, I have decided to concentrate solely on U.S. stamps, but I may branch out later into select countries and "city states". I look forward to conversing with you all, and re-learning my long forgotten knowledge and skills. I'm just happy to be here. Larry

Welcome Larry!

Seeing as how you're from Daytona Beach, I imagine that you've already got tickets to tomorrow's First Day of Issue ceremony for the Muscle Car stamps that will be held at the track.

Steve

Unfortunately, Steve, I have to leave tomorrow for Roebling Road raceway near Savannah, to flag an SCCA National race this weekend. You can bet I will have my 1st Day covers, program, etc., however. I occasionally run into the Pettys, so I also plan to get their autographs on said items in the future. Thank you for the welcome.

Zuzu; Thank you for the welcome and the thanks! Trust me, it was my pleasure to serve this great nation!

Larry
