It seems Kelley Blue Book (the auto appraiser website) has estimated what it would cost to buy the real thing ... examples of each of the five Muscle Cars featured on the recently issued stamp series:

Bottom line: $650,000 to $1 million dollars!

(At least it makes the $9.20 pane of stamps seem like a bargain.)

Wow! I remember a number of the gearheads in high school had some cars like these that they would race up and down the country roads. They would hang out in the Hardee's parking lot on Friday nights checking each other's cars. Hope they still have them. My father-in-law is also a old time gearhead who has some engine blocks and other parts of the cars from the stamp sheet as well as some from older street racing cars.
