My first BidStart purchase. All four are "post office fresh". $22.60 for the lot.

I am having an increasingly difficult time finding singles I would be interested in on ebay. There seems to be so much specialized and bulk material. I don't have this problem on BidStart. Depends on what you're looking for I guess.

US 4th Bureau, a very nice set to collect. I am currently working on completing the Rotary press issues of the 4th Bureau.
I recently completed the Flat Plates.

Very nice purchase! I agree that singles are easier to find on BidStart.

Ok..thanks and no I haven't seen it. I was also wondering how are the view rates as compared to ebay for stamps. Do people rather come to bidstart for stamps?

I guess you mean stamp prices. It is funny you should ask that, because just before I answered your last post, I bought 4 more stamps off of BidStart, then went to ebay and compared the prices to comparable listings there and the results were astounding.

The ebay comparisons below include BIN, BIN - Best Offer and even ongoing auctions! All stamps were "Light Hinged" except for #564, and the comparisons are stamps only, no shipping.

Scott #564 Pd. BidStart $9.99 -- ebay range $30-$35.
Scott #567 Pd. BidStart $11.99 -- ebay range $20-$35.
Scott #568 Pd. BidStart $11.99 -- ebay range $22-$43.
Scott #569 Pd. BidStart $16.99 -- ebay range $34-$75.

Pick some stamps and compare best prices on ebay and BidStart and see if we get the same impression. I use both ebay and BidStart, but lately I personally am moving in the direction of BidStart.

Hope this helps

When comparing prices remember to compare SOLD not starting prices especially for unsold lots. Also remember to adjust for condition, including centering. Apples and oranges are both fruits, but with many differences.

Condition was what I meant by "comparable listings". The sold prices would have been higher but not lower, so you can't compare fruits here. If I bought high and was seeing lower prices that would have been different.

Most of my 4th bureaus were purchased through ebay, but all were auctions as the BIN prices were way too high. The one thing I like better about ebay is that not every Stamp is BIN. Look at the percentage of BIN vs Auctions on Bidstart, it's amazing.

I recently sold some of the same issues on ebay auction style and they went for less than your stated prices. I have my doubts on Bidstart. I listed some items on the site and found low traffic and prices were all over the place.

I haven't bought stamps off ebay since Bidstart was called Stampwants... I love that site and buy much there.
It's still even in my favorites as www.stampwants.com and the link still takes me right there.

www.ebay.com/b/260/" rel="nofollow">ebay is just too generic a site to sell specialized items like stamps. That, and listing fees too high to make selling stamps worthwhile.
