I collect curls, cracks and flaws of the 1851/57 One Cent Franklin. This time the flaw is a scratch in the lower left of the stamp, also one on the margin. I don't have it in hand yet so this is the ebay image.

It looks like another right in front of his nose. but why would the scratch in front of his nose be white?

I think that scratch is on the mount, not the stamp.

I'm not a fan of selvage on a stamp but this one stays on.

I would never remove selvage for fear of damaging the stamp. I have sheets I should break up, and am fraid to do so because I might mis-tear a perf.
