Confused For Airmail?

The USPS often mistook this stamp design for an airmail stamp. This resulted in charging the recipient postage due.

What US Stamp is this?

The picture did not attach.

A photograph would make it too easy to guess.

How about the 20cent Audubon Scott #C71 getting confused with Scott# 1241 5 cent Audubon.

Mac pretty good job while that wasn't what I was thinking about it is a good example. This is the case of two different stamps and one basic design.

Here is some more info on the stamp I am talking about. It features an airplane for general post. It cares a rate higher than the general postal rate of that era. There was never an air mail stamp using this design. It is know to have a "Paraire Dog" associated with this stamp.

I have some 1928 Aeronautics Conference stamps to show but don't want to steal mk's thunder.

By all means show them you can never steal my thunder.

The prairie dog was well know for their great skill at getting on the wings of airplanes so the USPS made sure to design the 1928 Blue 5 cent International Civic Aeronautic Conference with one on the wing.

Just joking it is really a plate flaw that resulted in a flaw that looks like a prairie dog on top of the wing.

I do not have a flawed version to share with you.
