this stamp caught my eye
to me it looks a little like fireworks when off at first site.
i thought some one may have spilled white out on it at first but to the touch it feels smooth.
im not certain what has happened to this stamp.

Not having the actual stamp in hand, I would suggest surface scuffs and scrapes caused by automated mail handling equipment as the explanation for this interesting loss of ink efect.
