Greetings From NYC

I found this web site yesterday. I have learned much in the short time I have spent here. I'm not a collator but a possessor of stamps that were left to me by my grandfather. As a child I did collect stamps. I marveled at them as I viewed them under a magnifying glass, noting their details and intricacies. I viewed them as miniature posters. I found the act absorbing.
A year ago at a flea market, I purchased a first day cover that was issued by the Masonic Stamp Club of NY. Being a Mason I was pleased to find it and learn more about the stamp club. That sort of spurred my renewed interest in stamps. I also have a couple of shoe boxes of first day issues from the UN which were given to me.
I look forward to visiting this site regularly.

You'll find lots of friendly and knowledgeable people here. Sometimes just hanging around with like-minded people will help you refine your collecting interests and directions. On the other hand, you're going to find plenty of interesting things to get you off track

Best of luck with your renewed interest Escape. I started as a kid, have collected/accumulated off and one for 50 years, and I still love it. Always new and interesting things to learn about. And this forum is a wealth of knowledge, thanks to its many sharp members.
