Ok, got a batch of these 1c blues I've been going through. Got most Id'd as far as wmk goes. These are some of the double lined ones. Any opinions if any of these would qualify as ultramarine?

Colour is in the eye of the beholder, but, I'll take a stab at this even though I am not a US stamp expert. In my opinion anyway, any stamps that 'may' be ultramarine would all be in the bottom row - those being from left to right, first stamp and fourth and fifth stamps.

Maybe others who are better informed about US stamps can add to this?

My opinion: top row: BUBBBU
bottom: UUUUUB

I am no expert on these, but it seems impossible these are all double lined watermarks.

chasa - Why? I'm sure there might be one or two that are mis-identified as far as watermark goes. I checked about 150 1c blues, and had to wmk them petty fast since the lighter fluid smell gives my wife a migraine. This is actually only about 1/3 of the double line wmk. pile I made. All the others were just too blue (some dark ones as well) and these were the only ones I figured had a chance at being close to ultramarine.
