Hi Everyone,
I want to auction off this $5.00 diamond shape Washington Jackson stamps but the backside is not glossy.

Does anyone know if this stamp was printed without the glossy backside but still sticky as I have some stamps that are like this (some 20 cent bird stamps, not glossy but they are sticky when I adhere them to an envelope.

I was wondering whether or not to consider this a MINT stamp though I know it can't really be confirmed by photos, but thought I could get some opinions.
Here are some photos.
Thank you!

I just checked a plate block of the $5 Washington/Jackson stamp that I purchased way back when they first were issued.

The gum is dull and not glossy.

Yes, confirmed. They have dull gum. And it's mint.

Suggest auctioning on SCF. The stamp is basically discount postage, and after fees, you will be lucky to net $4 on ebay. I'd trade you fifty 15c commems without gum for it, all clean, flat, and unstained.

Then you will own part of the Brick.

Looks like it could be PVA gum Sue? (Poly Vinyl Alcohol) That type of gum is not glossy at all.

Sorry, but US stamps are not my expertise.

Hi All,
The stamp is already in an auction on Listia.com.
If it did not have any bids, I would delete the auction but cannot now.

I have a question, I know that if I start an auction here in SCF, that it requires I be a "Site Supporter", my question is... if I make a ONE time donation, will I be considered a site supporter forever or does it expire?

Thank you!
Sue

I belong to Listia, I'll take a look.

"Site Supporter" is good only for the time period you pay for. In practical terms, you need to run a couple of auctions a week to break even. The volume of SCF auctions has declined greatly in the past six weeks - don't know if that's Spring Fever or what.

Hi Doug2222,
here is my profile page on Lista.com, you'll see my auctions range from 3 Hitler Overprints, the $5.00 stamp of course and an 1872 handcancel with I am unfamiliar with.

The $5.00 has a GIN for 6,000 if you have that much and really want it.
Here is the link to my auctions on Listia.com:
