I came across this one all excited to fill that hole in my album. Then I read the note in the Scott catalog, "Beware of plentiful fakes in the marketplace of Nos. 441-447, made by fraudulently perforating imperforate stamps or by fraudulently trimming perforations off fully perforated stamps."

I think mine is the former - what say you?

If sides are straight, and stamp height is very close to 25mm, you've got a good chance.

Picture is blurry, but I think I see a little divot at the bottom edge, just to the left of the left "5". If so, then it's likely trimmed perfs.

Probably is a fake. Legitimate W/F horizontal coils (w/vertical perfs.) should measure a minimum of 24.5mm straight edge to straight edge. Ideally they should be 25.0mm but can measure somewhat more or less. I have read that it is possible for some legit. coils to measure a bit less than 24.5mm, but I don't know common that may be. You could send it the Weiss for an opinion.

can you please take a look and let me know? Much thanks!

Answer: Hi Evan,

While your scan isn't real clear, it does appear to be a fake coil. Sorry.

That was nice of him to give you a freebie opinion. As a professional expertizer, normally he (and other expertizers) charges (even for negative opinions).
