Greetings everyone!

My name is David and I live in San Diego. I moved recently and came across a box that had my old stamp collection in it from my childhood. Wow did memories come flooding back. My grandmother used to cut the stamps from her letters and parcels arriving from Canada and Great Britian and save them for me. I actually found a couple of envelopes filled with stamps still on the paper with her writing on them to me. I think I will keep those as they are. She has been dead now for many years. I used to collect United States and World stamps used. I never advanced past the beginner state however. I still remember getting those grab bags of stamps and the cardboard squares with stamps on them covered in shrink wrap. And I remember the wonder of receiving a packet of approvals in the mail. I've since learned there are much better ways of purchasing stamps. I have already ordered a couple pairs of tongs and a couple of illuminated magnifiers from advice on other threads here. I look forward to making some new friends and learn from the experienced collectors at this forum! Have a great day!
