Hi! I recently received a box full of older stamps from all over the world. I am brand new to stamp collecting and I'm going to require a lot of assistance over the next few months as I sort through my new collection. I decided to join a forum to give me a venue to display what I have and to hopefully share what I find interesting. Be patient with me because at this stage I may be posting items that other's would find common but this is an elementary learning experience for me. I'm glad to be a member!

Hi Ikandiggit
A warm Alberta welcome to you.
You will find this a great place to ask questions.
I have fond memories of "Winterpeg" As A Chef In The Old "North Star Hotel" And The "Viscount gore" Under Chef "Charlie Lerner".
Small World.

Hi djd. Portage Avenue has changed a lot since it was the North Star.

And the Viscount Gort was where the Winnipeg Stamp Club had their show last year.

A big from the Nation's Capital... where the heat from Parliament Hill keeps Wellington Street free of snow!

We have collectors here from all levels, and we are sure to learn something from you.

Phil:

I was in the Tim Horton's on Sparks Street on Tuesday. That's the one you and Jopie and I went to. Ther was an RCMP Corporal, in his Red Serge, standing in line with everyone else waiting to order his tea and doughnut.

No one batted an eye.

Now That's Canadian, eh?
