First time I've seen this one. It appears to have a "date stamp" of 1934. Anyone else ever seen one (I'm sure someone on here has.)? I'd be interested in your thoughts. Picked this up in a kiloware purchase, all off paper, consisting of about 700 postally used US Stamps, including a "big head" #73, a Scott #65,#156, #187, #207, and #219D,along with about 600 others...believe it or not,all for $7.00 with free shipping!

Not a "fancy cancel" by definition, but a "duplex cancel" typical of the type used during the 1930s. This previous link (bottom of page 1) shows another example of that same type of cancel):

I believe the CDS portion of the marking reads Honolulu, Hawaii with "Oahu" appearing in the killer portion of the postmark.

Thanks, wt1! I'd seen that type of cancel before, but just not one with "OAHU" spelled out in the center.

I found this item in a recent search through some boxes. Is this Bureau Precancel common?

I think you'll find that precancel to be a PSS Type 703. I believe it's quite common.
