I just recently got back into stamp collecting. I did some stamp collecting as a child, and now I am in the process of starting up the whole collection thing again. I bought a stockbook, some Kiloware, and starting to get my stamps into order by country and so on.
However, think of me as a new stamp collector. And I am a bit young (33) for the hobby.
Welcome to SCF Zedwardson. Where are you from? You like many of us started to collect while in school and got side tracked by life and have came back in our later years. this is a great place to learn and share with like minded fellow collectors.
I recently moved to Wichita Kansas from North Carolina. I actually have found that there is a local stamp collecting club in Wichita, so I plan to go to a meeting to see how it is.
As for what I am collecting, right now I am just sorting my current collection, which consists of something like 2000 assorted stamps. Right now I am sorting by country, and then figuring how what I am going to collect. Though I suspect that airmail and canadian stamps will be in the list of what I collect. As for the other stamps I have, I am not sure if I am going to sort them into topical sub collections or just use them for trade. At this point, I just love getting tons of canceled stamps and sorting though them. I am too new to my return to the hobby to really know what I am going to focus on.
Welcome to the community! And welcome back to the stamp hobby!
I've been collecting since age 6 (without any breaks) and spent many years feeling "a bit young" for the hobby... except when I was a kid and there was "junior stamp club."
Kiloware is a lot of fun... I still enjoy buying a bag of stamps, soaking and sorting, even after all these years.
