I went the post office today and my favorite postmaster lady had my 2008 year book waiting for me. So if you like them they are now at your local post office.

Had a question for you. Do you get the year book for the stamps and the book? Or for the ease of getting the stamp set?

I get the year set because I like collecting the year sets. The book is a nice bonus that I enjoy and a vast improvement over what was included in the early 1970's year sets. I do have every year since 1974.

The stamps are kept as is because I get all the stamps as they come out through the year.

The year sets give people a nice choice. They can use the book as yearly album's or even just to get the stamps and have the book as something extra.

I consider it a small investment since this years was if I remember right $65. Granted if you want just the stamps there is a far cheaper way to get them. However if your like me and consider this just another way to enjoy stamps then I believe you will not be disappointed in this years set.

I do collect new stamps in the following ways, used singles, new singles with plate number, full sheets and yes the year book.

That is what I was thinking as if one just wanted the stamps there is a code to get the same exact set with hinges without paying for the book. Just basically a order for cost of stamps plus a minimal charge through USPS. The hinges alone on some years for the sheet stamps are well worth this option.
