#424-440 perf 10, single line watermark {190}, Washington/Franklin head series these ones are from the years 1914-15. I been needing these for awhile and I found a sound lot-used for a song so I pulled the trigger! 2 more pages filled in the old Heirloom! These are the sellers images but I'll scan them proper upon their arrival. Thanks!

Mine is a pair--the 5 cent error paired with the normal 2 cent. I just could not afford the block with the error in the middle. I don't recall exactly what I paid, or whether I got a "deal". I just did not care. It was a stamp I had wanted since I was a child and just found one and paid the asking price.

The Scott 424 -440 is about my favorite set within the W/F's. It has a lot of varieties from the "pink backs" to the blocks of the 1 and 2 centers with the words "COIL STAMPS" in the selvage. Also a lot of variations in the shades. If you look at a lot of them, you can find shade variations not in Scott specialized.

It is a set that has a lot going for it.

I knew about the pink-backs, albeit very little, but the other shade varieties I'll have to take a closer look at. Although I bought this set I also have a partial set (all sans 4)of these already in my album so I'm a leg up already! Thank you for the tip! Where can I read more on the pink-backs? Do you know of any good references?
