Silk Threads In Revenue Stamps. Scott #r135 ?

Two revenue's on document. There was an older thread about these from when I originally obtained these but I just noticed that there are silk threads in the stamp's paper. Does that have any significance towards their Collectability? They was originally identified as #R135 Is that correct? Thank you.

Yes, they are R135, although on my monitor, the color looks more red than orange. There is a vermilion & black error of color. R135 was issued on silk paper, so no significance for that. Same design on Green silk paper would be R151 but these do not look like green paper issues.

These stamps are a bit oxidized, so the color is a bit darker than usual. As stated above, these are R135, the two cent Third Issue.

The top image is definitely on an either blueish or greenish tinted paper and both have silk threads if that helps?

If the two stamps DIDN'T have any silk threads, then you would have something to talk about.

This is one of many stamps issued on Willcox Chameleon Paper, one of the most truly awful papers ever used to print U.S. stamps.

The top image is on a blue-ish/green-ish paper. Is that of any significance?

This design was issued first on grayish paper as R135 and than later on green paper as R151. However R151 did not come out until 1874, so these are both R135. The inks and paper were designed to change color when in contact with various chemicals, so some changes are going to occur at this point.
Of course if you were 141 years old and started out grayish you might look a bit greenish by now too. :-)
