Years ago (in the 90's), at the Middle school my daughter went to, there was a very cool librarian who had a stamp and currency collectors club at lunch time for the kids. He would let them rummage through boxes of stamps and old foreign (not US) currency, or send them home with a bag full of the things. My child never got the bug and I've just kept them in the closet for years. Recently, we've needed to scrounge to pay the rent and I decided to try to sell anything I could find online. Of course the stamps and currency came to mind. I've been sorting and searching online for a while now. And I'm so glad I found this forum. Your people are all so friendly and helpful.
Thanks so much. I'll try not to abuse your kindness!
Roxanne

Welcome Roxanne! I may have to adopt your "accidental" term. I, too, became interested in collecting after my 8-year-old daughter (she'll be nine later this month) showed interest. She's still moderately interested (I see a space topical collection in her future), but I've caught the bug for sure.

It's a little addictive...but I think it's the research I love, and maybe not the stamps themselves! We'll see!
