Just wondering what other collectors experience was in finding the minor varieties of the camp stamps - RVC1a-4a?

The 'a' varieties were printed in Denver, I assume for the Western U.S.
Comparing Eric Jackson price lists, he seems to have sold in the past year a RVC3a with a crease in it - was asking $375 for that.
