Hi Robster

Welcome to the forum. And I hope that you stay for a long time.
There are many persons with lots of Philatelic knowledge on many diverse areas, the scholarship here is unbelievable.

Here in Australia such items are very collectable. The collection of Rod Perry which was recently auctioned had some "crash Covers" as well. It is something to hold on to. Some are very valuable.

The two in the Perry Collection from the Calpurnia were valued at $300 and $800.00
If you can find a copy of the Rod Perry Collection it would be very helpful
Phoenix Auctions was giving away copies of the auction catalogue at the recent stamp expo in Melbourne. They may still have copies

For those who may not know, here's a brief history of the addressee on the posted cover, Rigby, Ltd.:

More to the point, here's a newspaper account of the crash of the Empire Flying Boat "Calpurnia":

Wonderful information, my paternal Grandfather was employed At Rigby's for approx. 40 years as an 'educational books officer', resulting in a wonderful cache of stamps from many customers throughout the world.!
