Okay, I have overlooked these stamps since being here.
I don't know that I have even mentioned them. Dad did
have a large holding of UN issue stamps and FDCs.
Most of the single stamps are mint. His old album from
his younger days had a UN section in the back, where he
put used UN stamps that he got by writing the UN and
taking the stamps from the letters he got in response.
Was something that he took pleasure in as a child.
Anyway, the old album and some of the covers he got
from writing the UN are not pictured here.
The FDC albums must have roughly 100 pages each, with 4
FDCs per page. I'd venture a guess that there are, at a
minimum, 600 different FDCs in these 3 albums. That would
be with 50 pages each. IMO 100 pages per is more like it,
making it possible there are 1200 FDCs here, maximum. I
don't intend to count.
The mint single album goes from 1951 and is solid filled
into the late 80s. Then it thins out. The pages end in 94.
There is a solid filled BOB section with air mails and such.
One other thing is a single collector's year set from 1961.
I assume there are many years of this set, but this is the
only one Dad ever got his hands on.
