I remember when these computer vended postage stamps first came out in 1992. One of the members of our local club went to one of the test sites and came back with a boatload of $0.01 strips (initially the machines would print any denomination, but later due to losing money to all the $0.01 values being printed for collectors and dealers, the machines were adjusted to only print denominations of $0.19 and up).

I still have a bunch of those $0.01 plate number strips from back then, but I ran across this item in a collection today. It's a plate number strip of 5 without any denomination printed on any of the stamps.

Scott does not have a listing for this. Scrounging the Interwebz, I see auction listings for occasional items showing shifted denominations where 1 stamp out of 3 or 4 does not have a denomination, but I have not seen any examples where an entire strip has no denomination, let alone a plate number strip.

Any value or is it just an oddity?

I'm sure your example has value but since its probably categorized as an EFO, value is hard to determine. One has to imagine that these stamps (without denomination) were widely available from the distributor and those installing the coils in the machine. Likewise, it wouldn't be a great stretch of the imagination to think that some were "test strips" (even though none are listed as such) used to make certain the CVP machines were working correctly. I did find these similar (smaller) strips on the internet which at least proves the point that the stamps without any denomination did exist, but one has to imagine a premium being placed on a larger strip (especially with a plate number):

And Lots 530 and 531 at this link (although denominations were printed on part of the stamp strips):

I imagine that would be correct IF the machines were working properly. But there must have been occasions when the printing mechanism didn't work (thus the reason for servicing the machines) and a few may have gotten by without any denominations.

I don't know anything about the the work ethic or requirements of the employees who serviced the machines, but certainly a few stamp collectors (or profiteers) may have been among them and it wouldn't be surprising to find that a few non-imprinted stamps made their way into collectors hands that way.
