I've been reading here for a while but haven't posted yet. I live just outside Boston currently, native of upstate NY originally and went to college and grad school in Indiana and Ohio respectively, with summers spent in Mackinaw City and Mackinac Island, Michigan way back in the early 80s. I guess that sort of gives me 5 home states....
I've been collecting on an off since I was a kid in the late 60's, picked it up again in the early 90's when I was home sick for a few months, and now have a halfway decent collection and a bit of an accumulation as well. My main collecting interests are US with my collection starting at a recently acquired #2, Canada, Great Britain (starting at #1 and #2), Germany and France. I have a lifelong interest in space exploration so any space and aviation related material is also of interest.
As with many of us, my activity comes and goes in spurts and I tend to buy more than I have time to actually assimilate into my collection. As for my personal life, I'm a divorced dad who's raised his kids on his own since about 2006 and presently provide a home for 2 of my 3 adult children as well as my 2 year old granddaughter. Unfortunately none of them have much interest in stamps since their old man had them all collecting back when they were young.
Nice to see everyone here, I've learned a lot and been pretty impressed by some of the postings here. I look forward to talking to you all!
Welcome! For someone whose collection "activity comes and goes in spurts" your collection sounds pretty impressive. As you already know, this is a great place to share, ask, and assist.
