Hello to you all from me here in merry old England.

I am a relative 'newbie' to collecting so hope you forgive me for asking what may seem to you as 'silly' questions.

Having put my schoolboy collection to one side some years ago I have now decided that as retirement is fast approaching I would take up collecting again and this time dig into the history behind the stamps.

At present I have a few thousand stamps in various albums, stockbooks, boxes and tins :-) that I'm trying to organise into some semblance of order.

My main area of interest is GB and Empire, but am getting to grips with sorting through the vagaries of stamps from Germany.

Hopefully will get to know you all over the coming months and years.
