I am currently at Mom's house in Coca-Cola heaven/hell, you pick.
Dad collected stamps since childhood, but he also left behind a
large Coke collection that he built while working for CCE during
the 80s/90s.

We are working towards selling off the Coke stuff as a lot, but
it is seriously disorganized as Dad was invalid for several years
at the end. So the stuff got dirty, damaged, misplaced, etc...

Anyway, I brought the kids up to see Grandma for Christmas,
and while here I did some digging/sorting through this stuff.

Ever the stamp collector, I am finding that Dad kept alot of
Coke cover, postcards, letterhead, envelopes. Everywhere I find
paperwork in his Coke stuff, I find neat cover. It's not old,
but being corporate envelopes sent internally, the stuff is ornate.

Anyway, I have yet to post in the "postcard" forum.
I am here now because I found a great many Coke advertising
picture postcards. They are not terribly old, but neat nonetheless.

This is the teaser post.
I will post scans when I return home this weekend.

Dave

It sound like your father loved to collect things. Someday when I'm gone the kids are going to need a few dumpster and a few reference books.

A tip to Grams house sounds like a lot of fun.

Ratio:

Keep the Coca-Cola postcards, corner cards, covers, etc. It could make a nice topical collection for you to work on, and at the same time, a great way to remember your Dad.

Just a thought....

David

Sounds like an interesting collection. Coca Cola is a big collectible topic. It all comes down to marketing. I am a Pepsi guy myself. ;)

I have a cover from 1975 (oldest one unfortunately)
that was sent to a woman for a contest.

The deal was that folks were to put Coke bumper
stickers on their cars, then when they were spotted
by whatever employee they assigned, the owner of the
car won something.

Anyway, I have the cover and letter mailed to this
winner. She had to return it to claim her prize.
Somehow Dad ended up with it. Only problem is that
someone doodled all over the cover. Still neat
piece of Coke/stamp/cover crossover item.

Here's a couple of the post cards...
They are from the 1990s. Nothing rare or
showy at all. They are postally unused
and I have many duplicates. There are
4 or 5 different designs.

I suppose I should post a new thread in the
cover forum to show the cover envelopes?

I also found a very old foreign picture post
card in the group. Unknown country of origin.
I will post both side of this one in the WW
post card forum to get info on it.

Thanks
Dave

Here's another. Only slightly older than the others.
Again, postally unused. It has a perforated tail
with Kmart coupons on it. Must have come in a Sunday
newspaper or something. Use the coupons and send
the post card to someone for Christmas is my guess.
It has CCE printing on the back of the card. So it
is a Coke product, not a rip-off ad campaign.

CocaCola is my all time cold favorite drink, overtaking hot coffee! Great pics! reminds me of the white paper straws that I gnawed on in my early-early years-now extinct, plastic straws just dont have that powdery feel when gnawed!

I sure miss those Coca Cola Christmas ads. I have yet to see them over here in the United Kingdom. Great scan on the Santa Claus image as well.

Hello spock! just read your post today, yes we will arrange that with Saint Nicklaus or saint nick. By the way as an afterthought, was the image of Santa today actually invented by CocaCola? and the image is said to be a self-portrait of the artist painter who painted the CocaCola ads
