These were in a collection left to me. These two are my favorites. Just wanted to show them to the community.

Wow, those bring back memories! I was just a kid at 24, and was a resident of the United States for all of three months when this moon- landing occurred. Made me mighty proud of my new country!

I was staying in an English west country pub where the residents were allowed to continue drinking past normal hours and watch the TV link from the US. I got drunk on Guinness and real local cider and had my own "moon landing" on the bar-room floor. Missed the whole thing. Had to watch the re-runs. Bummer. Eventually acquired these...... Terry |

The #c76 10c Man on the Moon issue is a common commemorative....very few stamps of the period sell for face value....this is one that I see that actually sells for more than the face value. |

Thanks for looking. I thought the really nice thing about these two is the one postmarked while they were on the moon and the other postmarked on the day of recovery from the USS Hornet the main recovery ship. |

Kevin, I have about 70 full sheets of these Man on the Moon stamps. Where would I go about selling them? |

I barely remember watching the first step on the moon on the kitchen TV. In my mind, it was just like watching someone stepping off a bus. I now realize what a dumb kid I was when now, I see how Neal Armstrong's words, and their significance have resonated through history.

I am old enough to remember that when C76 was issued, the Post Office (pre-USPS days) was limiting customers to purchasing no more than one sheet at a time. IIRC they were, at the time, the largest-format postage stamp that had been issued to date. |

Yes, sadly modern issues sell for less than face value unless you sell them on something like ebay and after all the fees are taken off your sale you may end up with slightly over face- there are exceptions. |

So here we are -- July 20, 2015 -- and no one has yet mentioned that it's the 46th anniversary of the Apollo Moon Landing. It was certainly an event to remember -- and it should have been a philatelic event to remember, too, given the stamp and various covers created for it.
I remember watching the Moon Landing on my family's old Admiral B&W TV -- I was just 9 years old at the time and didn't really realize just how epic of an event I was witnessing, but I still remember it. |

Holy moly. I forgot all about it. There wasn't even a peep about it at work yesterday, and I work at KSC!
I was a child of 8 at the time and slept through it. My father stayed up all night watching it on the TV.
