I had yet to see a modern pen cancel that actually looked nice. Then a friend recently handed me a large envelope of used US and invited me to take whatever I wanted. I found this #2769:




9 (Sept) / 3 with a fancy manuscript style "L" or possibly not an L but a "K". An "R6" is at the bottom.

Unfortunately, there is also an unsightly large "X".

Yes it is and a lot cleaner than the red cancels ink which bleed when you soak the stamp .
