I believe it was just north of Wadi Halfa, which will show up on current maps. This is very northern Sudan, right near the border with Egypt. There was a big British military presence in the area, and it was the start of a rail connection deeper into the interior.
It was commonly spelled Taufikia, and sometimes spelled Taoufichia or Taoufikia, as well. Here is a picture from 1906...note the ostriches...
