1. I collect stamps out of enjoyment. Yes 2. Stamp collecting is becoming more popular as time goes on. Better than 2 years ago, worst than 10 years ago 3. I collect stamps because they are valuable. No. 4. Some of my collections are worth more than $1000 In CV yes, but practically not! 5. I have been collecting stamps for 10 years or less. Yes. Back to hobby since 4 years 6. I have been collecting stamps for more that 25 years. No 7. I have invested a significant amount of money in stamps. Not really... Maybe a bit more than my wife tough 8. I have invested a significant amount of time in stamps. Not really 9. Stamps are the most fascinating hobby that I have. Yes 10. I generally buy most of my stamps over the Internet. 99% it's so. Was the reason I'm back because of so many sources of information and because of the real selling prices, far from dream dealers catalogues prices. |

Hi Noob. Good survey. Here's my go at it.
1: Yes 2: I believe so, although sadly, my kids have no apparent interest. 3: No 4: yes 5: no 6: yes (45 years or so) 7: yes 8: Absolutely 9: No, it's a close tie between stamps, photography and carpentry (Currently redoing all the kitchen cabinetry) 10: In recent years, definitely.

Its too bad people like the Noob do not hang around to see the fruits of their labor..i think we discussed this once before but how many that "introduce themselves" make it to 50 posts...not too many... I have to re evaluate my stamp spending...i have been pretty much spending the same amount per year since 1987...since I do not drink, smoke, rarely gamble,don't have a boat or a classic or muscle car or other expensive habits and allowing for inflation over the last 24 years (where did they go ?) I think I should pay myself a cost of living increase ! |

1. Yes 2. 3. no most are .30 @ 4. only 1 and only if I was to part with it 5. I just started back up the hobby 6. I was first interested by watching my Grand Father in the 70's 7. Yes 8. Absolutely but something I enjoy dearly and it fascinates me and my Wife! 9. Possibly but I have many more including numismatics & fly-fishing 10.
