Reading through the revenue section of the 2014 U.S. Specialized out today. A fair amount of movement, the majority upwards, but some downward corrections as well.

Also some adjustments upward in some of the cheaper silk papers, as well as lower denomination bisects upped from $200 to $300 across the board. Long overdue.

I knew it would not be priced. One other question, in the beer stamps is REA45c listed with a double impression? It probably won't be priced either.

It's a four cent red brown proprietary rouletted instead of perforated. Although most of that set of proprietaries is known rouletted, the RB14c is a new discovery. It was arbitrarily opened at $14,000 by Mike Aldrich in his auction, but did not sell. Somehow he convinced Scott that that is a legitimate price for the item, but since it did not sell it is not. If you go to Stamp Auction Network and search through the recent past Aldrich sales, you will find it.

This is well out of my league, but I'm confused. The excerpt below from the Aldrich Auction of 04/25/2013 suggests that the RB14c realized $18,000 at auction. Was this a legitimate sale?

Aldrich, like Apfelbaum, never post realized prices at SAN, so you can't ever use information about their auctions. I recall Aldrich claiming in a column somewhere that the RB14c did actually sell, but I do not recall the dollar figure. The $50-75K estimate they put in the listing was laughable.

If it actually realized $18,000 he could prove it to Scott, and the catalog value would then be $18,000, since that is the usual procedure for an item such as this. There are many prices based on auction realizations in Scott. Since that is not the case, I am somewhat suspicious.
