Quote: So, the USPS is spending money on: plastic shrink wrap, carboard backer, white envelope, white cardboard stiffener, and then the stamps, which they can't even print right. Printing an error on a stamp already with a printing error. I think that's funny. -IBFS |

I think it's funny that some folks are trying to sell these as high as $29.40 on ebay. If you look at the at the ebay listings, there's the USPS with the same sheet for $12 (face value). With the USPS on ebay there is no reason to try and sell recent U.S. stamps at all. So far I've used about 60 or so of these stamps for postage. It's a nice change from the $2 "Waves of Color" stamp. |

I've seen "flat tire", "red tire" and a couple of other inking issues listed on E-Bay for $49.99 each |

I still have not seen any listed or shown in this thread with the missing ink like what mine exhibits in the arch, Not sure if that means anything but it is definitely noticeable. I have seen all kinds of different inking errors listed on ebay though and I am starting to believe that most of them will not be highly collected. There was one sheet that sold with a red tire for $52 but none of the other errors except some of the IMPERFS errors have been selling. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Inverted-Je...047675.l2557 Edit* Here is a link to a sheet that sold for $25 with a flat tire and bleeding error but the seller did not call out the flat tire. http://www.ebay.com/itm/True-Error-...047675.l2557So there might still be some interesting varieties that pop up. |

Well, I opened two Jenny packets today and each sheet has one stamp with missing ink along the arch. Sorry to disappoint you Jenny2013. |

As for values, personally, I think people are trying to set values way too early for these stamps. Will any of these "varieties" really be worth anything 5 years from now? It is sort of like gambling... Five years from now, I may wish I had picked up more of these sheets, OR I may be glad I didn't!

From what I'm reading here, it sounds to me like whoever is printing these things for the US Govt. has miserably poor quality control or they just plain don't care about what they're doing. Or both.

Here is a picture of one of the sheets. The stamp with missing ink along the arch is the top middle one. The other sheet has a stamp similar to the one pictured (but at a different location on the sheet), so I won't bother to scan it. |

Well, I have now seen a few of these but nowhere near what one would expect if it was a common error. Do any of yours have red wing tip or wheels? I notice some of yours have the bleeding red ink but that is very common. |

OK, I had to jump in and pay my $12 to join the mile-high Jenny club. My copy looks much the same as everyone's. I have the obligatory bleeding red ink on the right side (not as much as others). I don't have the partial arch, red wing tips or wheels or flat tire. I did fly speck and see the following two items (probably very minor, but for show and tell): Dot in A (upper right stamp): And some type of "Plate Number" or small blue mark in selvage of lower left stamp: Does anyone else have this blue mark? Is it a number 1 and other possibilities are 2, 3, etc? |

I have became so disgruntled with the U.S.P.S. I wish they would be forced to go out of business. At least then the value of stamps that have already been printed would eventually catch up with the values Scott and other have placed and posted on stamps. They are way over inflated to the benefit the Big stamp companies and big time sellers in the market place. The number of stamps issued each year (over 100) and the number of each of those stamps that are printed are killing the Hobby of Stamp Collecting. Such sloppy workmanship. |

Partime - It is not a plate number. Not sure if it is just a sloppy print, or a scratch/ding on the plate. |
