Hello all,

Here's a little something about me.

I started my stamp collecting (world wide) in the early 60's. Then in the early 70's, after my return from Vietnam, I cut my collecting to just the USA and Switzerland and joined the A.P.S. In about 1975 I started specializing in the Washing - Franklin's.

In the late 1980's my grandmother passed on, she was a big cachet collector. I received her accumulation and spent the next couple of years trying to organize it, which I'm still working on.

20 years later.

My current interest lie with 5 Cent Red's on cover as well as national Airmail week covers.

Welcome uouo77 sounds like you you have got a lot to do collection wise. Sounds fun to me! When you say the 5¢ reds, are you referring to the 1929-31 issues? (Scott #643-690) if so how are you organizing them? By Scott number, cachet maker or other? I like these issues and would happy to assist in any way I can. Again Welcome to the forum! -Jeff

As far as the 5 cent red's on cover, I'm referring to Scott #467 and #505. As far as the #485, well, I don't think any of these made it to a cover.

Another very interesting thing I found in my grandmother's collection is that she was good friends with Mr. W. Crosby. However, I got in some financial trouble a few years back and sold most the letters and #10 covers. I do have about 100 - 200 #6 covers left, mainly first days, airport dedications, and first flights.

Thanks for the offer of help Jeff. I may need it. Bill
