I just got a notification that the second edition of the State Revenue Catalog is now being printed, and will be ready for distribution later this month AND of the November 20th deadline for prepublication ARA and SRS member pricing of $67 ($70 if paid through PayPal/credit card).

If you prefer to mail in your order, go here: http://staterevenue.org/Documents/C...der_Form.pdf

If you prefer the convenience of PayPal/Major Credit Card, go here: http://staterevenue.org/srs_catalog.html

$67 is a screaming bargain for a 750 page catalog with 10,000 color illustrations.

I do not know if ARA/SRS membership is required to order the catalog, I suspect it's not but at a different price.

I do know that this catalog is a must for any state revenue collector. I have the 1st edition and have used it very often and have made new additions to the 2nd edition.

If you are not a member of the SRS, I would suggest you do so if you collect state revennues.

Any idea of what the binding format will be? Coil bound is the most useful for everyday use.

EDIT: Never mind. The PDF order form gives the information: hard bound, whereas the website does not.

Dan,

I didn't read the order form and if it says hard bound then that would be great. When I got the 1st edition, it was loose leaf with oversize pages and I had to find a binder. So, this would be a much better volume to have in one's library. My only concern would be the book size, will it fit in my bookcase shelf. I had to make a shelf adjustment for the binder. Actually, I need to re-organize my library. Lots of books, not enough shelves.

Hi-
Let me try to answer some of the questions about the new State Revenue Catalog. Today is the last day for the pre-publication price ($10 more tomorrow for members); best way for non-members is always to join $17.50, then buy catalog! Beginning tomorrow, price is $77 for members (post-paid--cheaper than Scott Specialized), $97 for non-.

Yes, the new catalog is only available hard bound--both website and order form say that. It should be slightly over 1-1/2" thick including cover which is skinnier than the previous (Scott Specialized 1-1/4" thick), even though a few more pages. As before, pages are 8-1/2 x 11 inches (just about the same as Scott Specialized--8-1/4 x 10-3/4). The biggest difference from the previous SRS catalog is that everything is illustrated in color.

Distribution of the new catalog should begin Thanksgiving week.

Dave,

Its a great reference catalog and its worth every cent. However, In the past year I only referenced my catalog maybe 3 times. I was having fun with the state revenues and have since stopped. I was trying to focus on Georgia. I'm not sure if the reason was just no good album to mount my collection. So, it might be worth while for the SRS to create individual state album pages. It could be another money maker to help out the organization. Just a suggestion.
