HI Everyone

I just joined. About 4 years ago I was injured in an accident and couldn't speak or leave the bed for over a year. All I did was read about stamps and work on my collection. I have Canada now complete. Just missing #3-4. 90b and inverted seaway. +some of the modern varities. But should be complete by the end of next year. Stamps saved my life.

Thats why I have no patience for all the complaining about little tiny problems when selling like the stamp took an extra day in the mail. Or you could have not wrapped it up so much. Just asking everyone to remember how lucky you are.

Hi Joe, Thanks for sharing your story, it's a good reminder to be grateful for what we have.

I'm amazed that you were able to get so close to completion. I've got many decades complete but lots to go yet and probably will never get the really rare and expensive ones...but I wonder if it will take the fun out of it, if and when it's "done"? The fun for me is in searching and finding.

I'm sure your knowledge of stamps will be appreciated on the forum.

Having any sort of thing that lays you up is sure a learning experience and an eye opener.

You learn to appreciate what you have while you have it.

Still, for many, it is wasy to fall back into old habits learned years ago.

Thanks for sharing your story with us Joe. I too broke my back twice in 2010 and stamp collecting helped me keep my sanity while laid up.

Thanks for the story huntersouthstamp, I have to agree that we don't know how lucky we are everyday. I try to count my blessing every day, and when I see my kids it simple enough to do...
