Hi I just recently joined the SCF. I collect mostly US (used and/or mint). I have the H E Harris Liberty album, but I also collect the following topics: (Abraham Lincoln & The US Civil War, and Trout/Salmon/Flyfishing). I am also a year-old member of the American Topical Association. I am currently compiling checklists for my favorite topics, so that I may generate my own albums.

I am looking forward to participating in these forums. There is so much great information here and many knowledgeable folks, worldwide. With the cold winter weather coming here soon to the US northeast, I look forward to spending some quality time with my collections (I normally spend quite a bit of time outdoors pursuing some other hobbies like fishing, hiking, camping, etc.)

Thank you for the welcome, TinMan. I am actually in northern NJ (sort of between Northeast and Mid-Atlantic, I guess). I have been a collector of sorts for about 40 years (on and off) - I am in my mid-fifties now. My grandfather was a collector of both coins and stamps (all US) and showed me the ropes. Once I saw his collections and that he was very excited to have a grandson who was interested, I was hooked for life. Sadly, none of my 3 kids ever showed any interest (even though I started them on penny albums and beginner stamp albums, they never got into it once they discovered electronics).

Hopefully you are okay in all that cold up there; you surely will have the time you wished for to spend some quality time with your collections.
