Started collecting in my teens, currently in my mid fifty's. Been collecting on and off, mostly off, during the years where my kids were growing up. Now that we have an empty nest getting back into it. Current project is to assist my aunt with documenting my late uncle's collections and hopefully dispositioning some of his collection for her. There is tons, literally, of material. Hope to be posting some of the more interesting items for discussion and opinions starting with the U.S. material. For some background on my uncle, who's collection I am documenting, he started working in the post office outside of Pittsburgh when he left the military in the mid to late forties and continued until he passed in 1990. His collection was basically locked away by my aunt until this year when I finally convinced her to let someone take a look at it for her.
