As I have seen little or no comment made about it, I thought I'd just post that due to "statutory authority" regulations, the US "Save Vanishing Species" Semi-Postal Stamp (Scott B4) has been dropped from sale by the US Postal Service as of 12/31/2013. Here's the official notice as it appeared in the 12/26/2013 Postal Bulletin:

The last update I heard about the stamp was approximately a year ago when it was reported that $1.7 million was raised through the sale of that stamp issue.
I wonder if this opens the door for another semi-postal stamp to be issued in the not-too-distant future?
Given the fact that the above notice suggests that the stamps should not yet be slated for destruction, I suppose there is possibility that the stamp sales could be extended if and when "statutory authority" is extended past the 12/31/2013 off-sale date.
