I don't collect US Stamps, but I might have to save this one. Too bad it won't be a gummed issue so that way I could say "Excuse me while I kiss this guy"* before I lick it :)
*Probably the most mis-heard lyric of all time. |

I really like this stamp! Jimmy Hendrix deserves his own stamp because he almost single handedly changed how music is played forever! -in a good way though; unlike rap which is, in my opinion, an absolute attack on my CNS and an abomination of music in general. |

You know, Hendrix was booed off the stage when he opened for The Monkees in the summer of 1967. LOL Not all rap is bad, but I don't care for most of it. |

I bought a pane of the Jimi Hendrix Stamp today and found that it has "USPS" microprinting as shown below, a detail that was not previously announced in the Postal Bulletin. In fact, I don't believe microprinting was included on any previous Music Icon stamps, so it would seem this is a first for the series: |

The full pane looks like an album sleeve with a slice of a record showing. |

Take a good look at the center four (4) stamps on the No Die Cut sheet... they will make a very neat cover. |

For those Jimi Hendrix fans wanting a collectible with a Woodstock connection, this pictorial cancel was posted on USPS Twitter. It's interesting that I haven't seen it announced in the Postal Bulletin, though. |

I bought a pane and they are really cool. I can't get no die cuts at my local post office. |

I don't think any post office would carry press sheets, which is the only way to get no die cuts. |
