Why do we need another Elvis? Why another Peanuts? Though maybe the Peanuts will honor Charles Schultz. What is a Global Holiday????
Otherwise it's OK.
I am a writer so sci-fi writers look good to me.
I wonder how they will distinguish Latino baseball (as opposed to any other kind)??? I am not really against it as baseball in much of Latin America is a big deal, but it will be interesting to see what design they come up with. |

Centerstage, I believe the global holiday will be another round stamp for international mail. Like the satellite pictures and the Christmas wreath of last year.

Been waiting for sci-fi stamps. If it is a nice one, I will replace my current avatar with the US version (I assume Heinlein would be included in such an issue. ). |

I believe the 5 SF authors to be depicted were identified last year as Asimov, Heinlein, Bradbury, Dick & Herbert. Also note that an "SF authors II" issue was mentioned in the Washington Post leak. |

How many different paintings of Madonna & Child are left to choose from? This is number 34 or 35?
I am serious when I ask :) |

I look forward to seeing designs for Johnny Carson, letter writing, science fiction writers, and Summer Harvest. What are baskets and five fishes?? Christmas carols could be interesting.
I believe 2015 will be the 80th anniversary of Elvis Presley's birth, and with the 29c stamp being the best-selling issue ever, I'm sure the USPS is hoping to capitalize. |

Quote: I believe 2015 will be the 80th anniversary of Elvis Presley's birth, and with the 29c stamp being the best-selling issue ever, I'm sure the USPS is hoping to capitalize. Still in the works according to this quote: Quote: In the meantime, the USPS is deciding how it wants to commemorate Elvis Presley for a second time. The original 29-cent Elvis issue came out in 1993 and has become the best-selling commemorative stamp of all time. "We're planning on doing something fun with that," McGowan says. "When the stamp first came out, we asked the American public to vote on the Elvis stamps. You would go into the post office and you had little postcards there that you could mail in. We asked people if they liked the younger Elvis or the older Elvis, and it really engaged America in a debate over which Elvis to put on the stamp. We haven't done anything like that in a while, so we're hoping to do something like that."
As for the future of the Music Icons series, she says 2015 will see a departure from rock and roll, but declined to reveal which genre will be its focus. "I definitely see that we need to pay a little honor to some other genres that haven't been covered," she says. "For example, jazz is something that will be in the foreseeable future, or Motown and types of music that we need to recognize." She says the USPS hopes to continue the series for years to come. Still waiting for any announcements. There doesn't seem to be anymore "leaks" about the 2015 issues yet. There are plenty of stamp series still open such as America on the Move, American Design, American Scenes, American Scientists, American Sports Personalities, American Treasures, Artists, Black Heritage, Celebrating Lunar New Year, Civil War Sesquicentennial, Distinguished Americans, Holiday Celebration, Legends of Hollywood, Lighthouses, Literary Arts, Love, Music Icons, Olympic Games, Scenic American Landscapes- International Rate, Statehood, Weddings. |

I am pretty sure a Battle of New Orleans stamp will be issued in 2015 but don't understand why we have not heard word yet since it happened on January 8th, 1815. The 150th anniversary Scott 1261 was issued on Jan 8th, 1965. |

Remember, we had a Battle of New Orleans stamp issued in 2012, so I don't know if the USPS would issue another one as soon as 2015: |
