2015 USPS Issues... News? Thoughts? Opinions?

I get Stampalotapus' point, BUT, show a group of people Bing's PHOTO, and how many will know him? Also Sinatra. Elvis, M Monroe... they are now BRANDS more than PEOPLE now. The Beatles will no doubt go that way once Paul and Ringo pass on to the Great Concert in the Sky.

Bing Crosby, in fact the entire family, is an unknown entity to anyone under 18. I always use my granddaughters as a barometer. My daughter knows the name because the racetrack in San Diego was co-started by him. In fact the Oscar winning picture "Going My Way" beat one of my all time favorite films "Double Indemnity." I really like the films from the 40's.

My coast guard issue has still not arrived yet! I pre ordered it in July.

sdtom, how did you pre-order? Through USPS Web Site? Or other ebay seller?

sdtom: You may want to call SFS to verify your order. I once had an order lost even though I could log on & see the order on my account. It was apparently lost when being transferred to the group who fills the orders. The people who needed to see it never did ... even though I could still see it (and probably still can). To make things worse, the items being ordered were sold out before I realized there was a problem.

I called once so I'll call again. They are not on my favorite list right now. It may not get sent until the Bergman stamp is issued on the 20th. I was told that but the postal clerk said she would change it but I somehow think nothing happened.

The 2012 Spectrum Eagle is being reprinted in coil rolls of 10K ... issue date Sep. 2. Stamps will have a 2015 date.

Got my Coast Guard stamps, finally and my FDC Summer Harvest came through also. Still waiting for the Elvis and of course the Bergman. Haven't gotten my Penguin extra ounce FDC yet.

According to SFC the 2012 Spectrum Eagle 2015 reprinted coil rolls of 10k will NOT be available to collectors in strips of 100.

Don't think these were ever available in strips of 100. They were usually sold in strips of 25. Are you saying that the USPS will not be selling the 2015 Spectrum Eagle in strips of any size?

JLLebbert, the Spectrum Eagle was, at the time of issuance available in all sorts of lengths! I remember buying a strip of 100, but other were getting as much as 500 in a strip!
And knowing the USPS, they will sell this thing in strips of 100. Their "cave men" have not gotten the word yet!

Yes, you are probably right about the cave persons not getting the word yet, but when I called SFC earlier today, the rep spoke with their Sup and stated 10k will be only format, no strips of 25 as earlier issues. Hopefully they will figure it out and offer to us as in the past.

Peter: What was true in 2012 may no longer be true. I attempted to purchase a strip of 100 of one of the more recent self-adhesive coils. I actually ended up talking to someone at SFS. She even supposedly consulted with a couple of higher-ups. The answer that came back was that ONLY strips of 25 were being sold. Or, of course, full rolls of 10K.

Four post offices near me advised customers are costantly asking
for Elvis Presly stamps. #1 item! All had to order more supplies - especially sort after are the CD's which sell out as soon as they place on counters. Buyers don't even realize there are 2 new unreleased versions on CD.
