I have a Davo hingeless US album (volume 1). It provides spaces for airmail issues. It does not show Scott numbers. Where C25 belongs there is a space with the stamp pictured. Next to it is an unpictured space that simply says 6 cent carmine. I've looked in the catalog and I know there is a C25a and C25b but I don't really think the space is intended for either of those as this album does not provide any spaces for booklet panes or errors otherwise. Any ideas? Perhaps an intentional mistake to guard against copyright violators?
No, I do not think Davo would make an intentional mistake to guard against copyright violators, there are otherways better ways of doing this. Possibly it was an error but seems unlikely with an expensive album such as it is.Can you take a picture of the page and post it?
While your album may not have spaces for complete booklet panes, does it leave spaces for singles from booklet panes? In other words, could the extra space be intended for a single stamp from C25a? The answer to that question is easily answerable ... are there similar spaces for other issues (e.g., C39 or C51)?
I've actually noticed this same mistake in my Davo vol 1. I believe the correct stamp for that position is C32 - the 5 cent skymaster stamp. There doesn't seem to be any other place for it and it is next to C25 to C31 which are same sized planes flying the opposite direction.
