Hello! I'm new to the forum, and I started to scan an old US stamp album I have found recently.

I dunno if I can post this link (I read the tutorial and I'm not sure about the "New members should refrain from posting external links until they have 50 posts, unless prior approval from the staff is given.")

I uploaded the picture on IMAGESHACK
I scanned the picture to 1200dpi but was way too big for the web, I rescalled to around 1400x6000 pixels with photoshop.

Here's the picture

Any hidden gems in this??

(OPs: I hope it's ok for the link)

thank you very much for your time!

If there are gems, they are well-hidden. Some of those issues require measuring perfs, identifying watermarks and distinguishing tiny details in the design.

I concur that no real gems seem to jump out. I do like some of the precancels (Federalsburg, Maryland and Scranton, Penna). The heavy, and most of the lightly torn examples are, essentially, worth zero. As stated, some watermarking and perforation differences may be worth studying ... but probably not.

Why not post another set for our viewing?

Don't give up friend! Keep scanning them. Part of the fun, I think anyway, is in the hunt!
