Heartbleed

Apologies if this is in the wrong forum, but can anyone tell me if the forum is at risk because of the Heartbleed Open SSL vulnerability?

We have no need to use SSL.

If I could just add to this topic, as no big company's like Paypal etc who do use the SSL security Padlock feature has acknowledged this yet (meaning they are awaiting news from the developers on a patch), they have not made any statements to change your passwords etc, even if you do change your passwords at present you will only be changing the password that will end up in the 'Hackers' hands at present (if they are actually exploiting this,if this is such a big deal I would of thought paypal would of become unusable whilst it was getting sorted out because after all paypal will have to take the bill if any money does get taken out of your account as it is theft), until they make a public broadcast/message to tell you the patch is here and to change your password, (you will probably be unable to sign into Paypal and be made to change your password once the patch is here anyway) there is no need to worry.

to put it in a nutshell the 'Heartbleed' is named after an experiment was done to assess the green padlock on your browser (where you put the URL of a website in) to see how safe it was, 3 or so days ago it was tested for an experiment to see if it could be penetrated, they have now found a massive 'flaw' in the security of this, so a 'hacker' can find out your password to paypal etc, 'That little green padlock that was suppose to make your browser safe is not secure like everyone thought until 3 days ago when it emerged that 'hackers' have been able to send 'packets' (data from one computer to another or a system), and therefor bypassing the security, meaning it can decipher your password, if they couldn't penetrate the padlock, they would just get jumbled encryption code like '993sf9se' for example (a random string of numbers and letter) but they have penetrated the padlock meaning they do not see the string of numbers and infact see your username and password, its basically like this, the padlock is a door, and the encryption code is a key, if you do not have a key you will not be able to open the door,therefor you will see random numbers and letter strings, if you have the key however,you will be able to see all the real data like passwords etc normally, I hope this information helps you,
