Is the Scott U355 1c green on blue with "LAID PAPER" and watermarks??

Yes, all of the blue paper stationery had diagonal laid paper with watermark.

Not sure if chasa is referring to just U355 as always coming with laid paper.

There were a few 1 & 2 cent Mercantiles with wove blue paper.

Not sure who you are including in "you guys".

I only collect cut squares if there is no alternative.

No, I collect mostly Canadian although I find cut squares very interesting and am quite enjoying them.
